Actually my rate was wrong, think I pulledit off another study
so for consistency, the rate is 3.6 for intentional homicide, still far higher than most of Europe outside of a few fromer soviet bloc nations, the overall rate in the US factoring in suicide and accidents is around 10.5. Pulled it from a university of sydney study that someone formatted into a sortable table on wiki, actually kind of interesting to look at. The take home is Latin America loves shooting people.
Our suicide rate is among the highest, interestingly the European countries with more gun access, like Switzerland, also have a really high gun suicide rate. Psychologists will tell you, access to guns makes it easier to do on impulse. Lost family members to it in fact.
